Sip to Fit Mobile App Launched!

The launch of the "Sip to Fit" mobile application took place yesterday (28th) at the Duncan White Hall of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This is a Hydration App designed to help athletes track the amount of water and sodium lost through sweat during training sessions. Additionally, the app can be utilized to monitor and manage the nutrition of athletes.

​The application was developed by Dr. Hashan Amarathunga, Acting Consultant Nutritionist at the Medical Research Institute. It was officially launched by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage.

​The event was attended by Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage, weightlifter Harshana Gunathilaka, and heads of various sports organizations, including the Institute of Sports Medicine.

​Speaking at the event, Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage stated that the world is now sending athletes developed through science to international competitions. He emphasized that local athletes have to compete against those who are backed by advanced technology. Therefore, he noted that technology must be introduced to local sports and that this app provides a significant contribution toward that goal.
